Default Multiple Account shinanigan

Guild Wars is by far the best game I have played in a long time, but having to pay 50 dollars for another four charcters to me just seems rediculous. There are just too many possibilities in character creations and builds to give a person four charcters to play with. My suggestion is either make a person able to create multiple accounts ( maybe make a max of 3 or 4 accounts a CD-key) or atleast reduce the price of the second account to under 25$.

Dude just unlock all the skills and custom PvP. If you get bored make a new custom PvP. Not much to do once you've done every quest and unlocked everything in RP anyways, except wait for next expansion.

I'll play the mediator here... not that it's my job or anything. Your character's in this game are somewhat disposable. After you PvE to your heart's content, you can insta-create characters with access to all the skills any character on your account has ever found.

That being said... there are six main classes, and it just makes too much sense to me that there should be six character slots. If additional classes are added in future chapters, there should be slots added as well.

Anyhoo... $12.50 a slot is about the cost of a decent deck of magic cards. I'm not running out to buy an additional copy, but it's not unreasonable.

Oh yeah, I made a ready-made PvP character, and started in a town in the red portion of the map (near Ventari's areas I think?) I entered a PvP round immediately without exploring. If you make a PvP only character, can you still explore the world? Or are you trapped in towns/arenas?

I know all fo this , its just thay my bro and I both play the game and that i like to keep around the charcters i worked so hard with. Thanks for informtion, I can't really complain about it at all now I know all of this stuff, but i do hope they atleast add more character slots as more expansions come. Guess i was a littlt bit too spoiled with being able to create so many accounts in DII.

I was thinking that just this morning, I want to eventually have one character for every class (primary, of course). I hope they look into it *hint*: change it

Honestly i dont really mind the fact that i'd have to pay a little to get extra characters in GW, but the one thing that keeps me from doing so is the fact that i'd have to have a different account. A couple things that dont work with an added account is: 1. The storage. You wouldn't have access to the same storage between accounts. 2. There's a cap on guild size. If you wanted all your characters to remain in the guild you would have to take up two spots in the guilds limited 100 persons capacity.

Suggestions: Somehow make available extra characters by either:
#1. changing the limit to 6 (number of professions... has the possibliity to change right? ) = free of charge.
#2 Creating an option to buy as many characters as wanted up to XX limit. (this could be done online with pay-pal) :O
#3 Make available the option to buy an extra CD, and be able to add the extra characters to your existing account = Kinda expensive though, but i'd do it.

additional: per character added to your account... i suggest the storage should increase in size too. it's kinda small imo. can barly keep all my crafting materials in it. what would it hurt to have larger storage? wrong topic!

lol yeah i'd like just 6 slots... hehe *hint hint*

Perhaps they could just add this into the 'edit account' option; give you the choice to add in your credit card number and buy a slot when you want to. Up to a max of course; i dont think their servers would appreciate 50 characters just on one account (although their bank balance might!)

Owning two or three(or more) copies of GW isn't all that unfeasible for people with a little disposable income(that's the limiting factor). As for the problem of exchanging items between accounts, that's fairly simple, but you need two computers to do it with each one running a different account and then send your own characters to meet someplace and exchange items.

(P.S. - The storage vault is limited in size to incourage trading and not hoarding of items, though you could always create one character just to use for storage.)

oh, so all i gotta do i go buy an extra computer? that's not so bad now that this is resolved, i'll let my guild know that i'm getting an extra computer, and they're gonna have to live with two of me in the guild

the storage vault isn't so bad really, its just those few days when i get sick of trading, and have nothing else to do with the items i've been farming. I often sell them for the little gold i get out of them, for some reason it's more satisfying than trying 30 times longer to sell it and getting about 5 times as much gold. :P that doesn't add up. so all in all i'm ok with the storage.

Compared to spending 50 dollars on a game and paying 14.95 a month for extra slots?

The problem I have is when two people from the same household want to play the game. My bro and I both want to play, but since i bought the game i force him to use only one charcter slot! Also money is a problem for me since I'm 15 and do too many sports and games to have time to work.

-shrug- You can buy another CD-key from NCSoft for $30. That's about as close as your gonna get.

Really Blow, the problem with that is it isn't how the game is supposed to work, many ban for account sharing, though I believe ArenaNET is rather lenient on the fact. Changing it through that discussion is the most unlikely thing to happen.

However, I do believe there needs to be 6 slots, once again for the reason of primary classes. Think on it, primary is the only way to use runes, the only way to use armor, and of course the only way to get points into the primary attribute, and for quite a few classes these points in the attribute can actually be helpful for many skills, I think only the necromancer has none, and the mesmer has few people seem to use but is plausible. So, it is quite restrictive.

And, to begin forcing people to pay for extra slots is stupid, defeats the purpose of not paying monthly realistically, it was one of those huge draws to the game, and it feels they did limit the character amount. I never go above 4 on other games, this is the one I really want to, that says something to its necessity.

The final number of characters per account has not been determined. At present, alpha and beta test accounts allow four characters and we estimate that the number of characters per account will be about four upon release.

this is what was mentioned in the official faq's so what i gather from this is there's totally a chance we can get a few extra characters on our accounts. nice!

it's probably due to the many users that they can't allow 500 characters per account, that's what i'm guessing. I'm sure they were just playing it safe for the first little while so they're servers wouldn't get bogged down. but honeslty i'd say their servers are the best i've ever played on, cause i've never had a problem with lag or anything. plus updates come so freekin easy.

i'll keep wishin' though.. i'm ready to create my fifth character.
